Growing old is inevitable so Shirin is dedicated to finding new ways to combat age-related diseases and deterioration. How aberrant immunity can drive such aging is her scientific passion. Shirin is currently doing her PhD at Charité University Hospital Berlin as a NeuroCure Fellow, studying the brain intrinsic immune system in Alzheimer's Disease on a single cell omics level. Previously she gained her Bachelor in Biology at ETH Zurich and her Masters in Neuroscience at ETH Zurich and Harvard Medical School. At Apollo, Shirin focuses on discovering novel, to date untargeted pathways to restore brain homeostasis during aging.
